The 61st Annual Grammy Awards will take place this Sunday in Los Angeles. This season, fifteen-time Grammy Award-winner Alicia Keys will be hosting the show. Each year, music fans anticipate performances from prominent artists and nominees. With the lineup this year, the 2019 event certainly won’t disappoint.
We have nothing but immense admiration for the music and these talented artists. However, there’s something else we’ll have our eye on this Sunday: their wrists. Like us, some of today’s top musicians are major watch nerds. Here, we’ve rounded up some of the nominees and the brands they love. Check out the Grammy’s this weekend, and see if you can spot which model these artists are sporting!
Drake & Rolex
Drake is the second-most nominated artist at this year’s Grammy Awards with seven total nominations. His hit song “God’s Plan” is up for three nominations alone. They include Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Rap Song. When it comes to watches, Drake is a Rolex man through and through. His collection consists of models like the Daytona, GMT Master II, Sky-Dweller, and Day-Date.
Lady Gaga & Tudor
Lady Gaga is also up for an impressive number of awards at the 2019 event. She has a total of five nominations. Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s remake of A Star is Born caught the attention of film and music fans alike. Their original song “Shallow” is nominated for four awards: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo Performance, and Best Song Written for Visual Media. Gaga joined Tudor as an ambassador just a few years ago in 2017. Since then, she’s become one of the faces of the brand’s “Born to Dare” campaign. Most often, you can find her wearing the Black Bay.
Willie Nelson & Rolex
Willie Nelson has been a ledgend in the music industry for nearly 50 years, and he’s not slowing down. The twelve-time Grammy Award winner is up for three awards this season. They include Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, Best American Roots Performance, and Best Arrangement (Instruments and Vocals). Though Nelson may not seem like the Rolex type, his watch of choice is a yellow gold Day-Date.
Bradley Cooper & IWC
Bradley Cooper is no stranger to awards for his work on-screen. However, this year, he’s received his first-ever Grammy nomination for his work on the remake of A Star is Born. Along with his co-star, Lady Gaga, Cooper is up for four awards for their original song, “Shallow.” Also like Gaga, Cooper is a watch ambassador. He joined IWC just last year in 2018. His favorite model is without a doubt the Big Pilot.
Kendrick Lamar & Rolex
Kendrick Lamar is arguably one of the most potent artists of our generation. He’s not only a twelve-time Grammy Award winner but also a Pulitzer Prize winner for his 2017 album, DAMN. It comes as no surprise he’s this year’s most nominated artist at the Grammy’s. He’s up for a total of eight awards. They include four for his song “All the Stars,” and one for this work on the soundtrack for Black Panther. Lamar is a classic Rolex man. You can find him sporting the iconic Day-Date President.
Post Malone & Audemars Piguet
Post Malone has received a number of accolades for his work but has yet to receive his first Grammy. The up and coming artist is nominated for four awards this season. They include Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Rap/Sung Performance. If you’re familiar with the song “Psycho” off his nominated album, you might know his watch of choice. He references his Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in the song’s opening line.
Adam Levine & Rolex
Adam Levine sent watch fans into a frenzy during recent Super Bowl Halftime performance when his Rainbow Daytona went viral. His band, Maroon 5, is up for a single nomination at this year’s Grammy Awards. Their song “Girls Like You” featuring hip-hop rising star Cardi B is a contender for Best Pop Duo Performance. Though the Rainbow Daytona isn’t Levine’s everyday model, he’s still a devoted Rolex man. In his collection, you’ll find all of the brand’s classics, like the GMT-Master, Submariner, Day-Date, and a Paul Newman Daytona.
Keith Urban & OMEGA
Keith Urban has a total of four Grammy Awards to his name. This year, he’s looking to take home a fifth. He’s up for one nomination for Best Country Solo Performance at Sunday’s event. It may come as no surprise that Urban is loyal to one watch brand: OMEGA. His wife, Nicole Kidman, is a longtime ambassador for the watchmaker. Most recently, you can spot Urban wearing the Planet Ocean.
Justin Timberlake & Rolex
Last but not least, ten-time Grammy Award winner Justin Timberlake is up for two awards this year. His song, “Say Something” featuring Chris Stapleton is nominated for Best Pop Duo Performance. He’s also nominated for Producer of the Year for his album Man of the Woods. Along with many other artists being honored at this year’s Grammy’s, Timberlake is a Rolex man. Like fellow artist Kendrick Lamar, he’s partial to the Day-Date President.
