Luxury time piece brands have a deep history with sports, especially tennis, golf, and motor sports like Formula 1. Baseball and luxury timepieces, however, is a bit harder to come by. The coolest example I’ve seen with a watch and baseball ad is Mickey Mantle taking batting practice with a Timex strapped to his bat. Ulysse Nardin could do something cool like that, too, now that they have the 6’10” Hall of Fame pitcher, Randy Johnson, as an ambassador. If they ever want to campaign about a watch’s durability, they could set up a Ulysse Nardin and have The Big Unit throw a fastball at it.
That wouldn’t be the first time Randy Johnson hit something with a fastball, of course. There’s that time he turned a dove into a poof of feathers with a 95 MPH fastball.
