Award ceremonies are the perfect opportunity for celebrities to showcase their finest outfits and accessories, like the most recent 2016 Golden Globes. And since we’re talking about men’s accessories, we can’t leave out their luxurious timepieces, so let’s have a look at the modern and vintage luxury watches spotted at Golden Globes 2016.
The Golden Globes ceremony recognizes excellence in film and television every year. This year, the 73rd edition was broadcast on January 10 and hosted by Ricky Gervais. Of course, every important event in the film industry is also a chance for the participants to showcase their gala ensembles and do their best to be included on “Best Dressed” lists. This year, there were plenty of male celebrities who suited up, wore their most luxurious watches and, overall, looked pretty impressive.
Rami Malek: Montblanc
Rami Malek made a great impression at the Golden Globe awards. Not only he was nominated for Best Performance in Mr. Robot (which also won the award for Best Television Series in the Drama category), but he also looked great and was one of the best-dressed men at the event. Rami wore a Dior suit with matching tux shoes and accessorized the look with a gorgeous Montblanc watch with a simple golden dial and Dior cufflinks. Montblanc was actually one of the most worn designer watches at the ceremony – Ryan Coogler and Marc Ruffalo were also seen wearing Montblanc timepieces.
Michael B Jordan: Piaget
Another actor that looked particularly dapper during the ceremony was Michael B Jordan, who starred in Creed. Although he wasn’t nominated, he definitely won in the style category. He wore a buttonless tuxedo jacket mixed with matching tux pants. Of course, he would have been remiss to not include a high-end watch. Michael wore a Piaget Altiplano, a simple and classy choice, but he wasn’t the only one to represent the luxury brand – Matt Damon was wearing a Piaget Gouverneur for the evening.
Oscar Isaac: Tiffany
The winner for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture for his role in Show Me a Hero managed to look fabulous while accepting his award. Oscar Isaac (who also starred in the newest Star Wars movie) wore a Rag & Bone suit and matched it with a luxurious Tiffany timepiece. More precisely, the watch was a Tiffany CT60 Chronograph in stainless steel with a white soleil dial, on a black alligator strap, a very elegant choice for the occasion.
Jonah Hill: Rolex
Jonah Hill has significantly improved his style and shown some impressive performances over the years. From the geeky boy who starred in comedies, he has evolved and become one of the young talents in Hollywood and with key roles in films such as The Wolf of the Wall Street. Even so, he’s never lost his appetite for comedy, and during the 73rd edition of the Golden Globe Awards, he not only wore a stylish suit, but also a bear mask, playing the bear from The Revenant. Critics may have doubted his sense of humor while on stage, but he looked excellent in his tux. To top that off, he wore a Rolex watch the entire night.
Eddie Redmayne: Omega
Eddie Redmayne, Academy Award winner for his role as Stephen Hawking in 2015’s The Theory of Everything, made quite an appearance. He was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture in a drama for his role in The Danish Girl. Of course, he had to rise to expectations, and he did so with a very stylish ensemble. Redmayne wore a unique Gucci suit in a deep blue shade; the jacket was dotted with miniature bees, rendering the look very original. Since he is the new brand ambassador for Omega, it was obvious what he would be wearing on his wrist. He accessorized his outfit with a fine Omega Globemaster Chronometer watch.
Wiz Khalifa: Rolex
One of the big surprises of the night was rapper Wiz Khalifa, who received a nomination for Best Original Song for “See You Again,” made in collaboration with Charlie Puth. Even though he didn’t win, he was named the best-dressed man of the night by Vogue, looking very stylish in his Thom Browne suit and tie and his Gucci loafers. Of course, he made the whole ensemble look very eccentric by adding gold accessories and a luxurious Rolex Day-Date Presidential with champagne dial.
The 73rd Golden Globe Awards was a big event for the film industry and all of the actors nominated. It was also a great night for fashion, where both men and women were able to showcase their best outfits and accessories, including a fascinating variety of modern and vintage luxury watches.
