What Watch Does Serena Williams Wear?

Serena Williams is not only one of the most significant athletes of our time but also one of the most influential. Over the course of her career that has spanned more than two decades, she has won twenty-three Grand Slam titles. Williams has also notched four Olympic Gold medals in both women’s singles and doubles. In addition to her victories, she’s held the number one spot in the Women’s Tennis Association’s rankings on numerous occasions.

Aside from being a star tennis player, Williams is also a devoted daughter, sister, wife, and mother. She welcomed her first child in 2017. Just five months after giving birth, she returned to the court at the Fed Cup in February 2018. Later that year, she finished runner up at both Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. Williams has yet to land another title since adding motherhood to her many list of accomplishments. However, it’s clear she has no plans of slowing down.

What Watches Does She Wear?

In addition to her passion for tennis, Serena Williams shares in our passion for watches. The star athlete has been an Audemars Piguet ambassador since 2014. In the first year of their partnership, Williams sported classic variations of the Royal Oak Offshore. You could spot her in stainless steel and rose gold versions both on and off the court. Since then, their relationship has strengthen and her collection has grown.

Later in 2014, Williams upped the ante on her watch game. She wore an 18-karat rose gold Millenary featuring a black mother of pearl dial and brilliant cut diamond accents. The following year, she celebrated her sixth Wimbledon win sporting another iteration of the Royal Oak Offshore. This unique 37m quartz model featured a rose gold case and diamond-set white rubber bezel. Like Williams herself, the watch was equally sporty and stylish.

In 2016, the same watch served as a good luck charm at Wimbledon once again. Here, she scored her twenty-second grand slam victory. However, later that year at the French Open, Williams showed off a different AP model – this time an 18-karat rose gold Royal Oak with a striking black dial and matching black rubber strap. Also in 2016, the tennis legend starred in the watchmaker’s latest campaign.

Switching it Up

Serena Williams switched things up in 2017 when she swapped her Royal Oak variations for the Millenary. That year’s Australian Open was a significant match for the player. It marked her last grand slam win before her pregnancy. There, she wore another rose gold iteration of the Millenary. However, this one was a bit less ornate than the previous model she sported back in 2014. It was somewhat similar to some of her favorite Offshore models. Her 2017 Millenary featured a white alligator strap and petite diamond accents on the bezel and lugs.

Off the court, Williams remains loyal to AP. For instance, she’s made a number of Met Gala appearances sporting the brand’s models. In 2017, she wowed on the red carpet boasting her baby bump and the totally one-of-a-kind Diamond Outrage. This incredibly unique spiked bracelet watch boasts roughly 65 karats of diamonds. At the 2019 Met Gala, Williams caught the attention of fans yet again with her look. She and her husband rocked his-and-hers AP watches – a diamond-set Royal Oak for her and a CODE 11:59 Automatic Chronograph for him.
