Is Coach Kliff Kingsbury Wearing a Breitling Mulliner Tourbillon Watch?

With less than 40 days until the kickoff of college football, conference Media Days are underway with coaches and players informing the media about what to expect during the upcoming season. The Big 12 Media Days was held on July 21 – 22 in Dallas, TX. One of the biggest stories from the Big 12 Media Days this year is second year coach of Texas Tech, Kliff Kingsbury, and his “Breitling” watch. Kingsbury is known for his dapper style, so people tend to notice what he is wearing. When addressing the media at Media Days, journalists took notice of the flashy watch on Kingsbury’s wrist. The watch closely resembled that of a Breitling Mulliner Tourbillon watch that retails for over $100,000. An image of the watch from journalist Ben Baby quickly began to circulate around the internet and the passionate watch enthusiasts over at Breitling Source quickly named the watch as a replica. They pointed out that the date font is not accurate and the fact that there are pushers but no chronograph.

Texas Tech spokesman, Blayne Beal, shared that Kingsbury has had the watch for about 10 years and received it as a gift during his time in the NFL Europe. Beal says that Kingsbury wears the watch because he likes the way it looks and doesn’t really care whether the watch is real or not.
