Watch Madness Part Two

In part one of this year’s Watch Madness we took a look at the first eight matchups in our bracket and there were some strong contenders. If you haven’t taken a look at them yet, we suggest going back and checking them out. Before we can get from our round of thirty-two down to the ultimate winner, we need to take a look at our other eight matchups.

Zenith Grande Class vs. Bell & Ross Vintage WWII Regulatuer Officer

Zenith is a storied brand with a modern feel. Started in 1865 by a 22-year-old, the Zenith brand is a stronghold in the luxury space. This Zenith is sleek in black and steel. The black dial has a combination of alternating steel markers and numerals. There is a small subdial located at the nine o’clock marker and a cut-out power reserve. The watch sits on a leather strap and looks great at any occasion.

Bell & Ross is a relatively young brand whose founders sought to create a line of watches that bridge the gap between a military device and a traditional tool watch. The Vintage WW2 Regulatuer Officer watch puts a spin on traditional subdials. The black dial has two striking silver subdials that are stacked on top of each other. The top one indicates hours and the bottom one, seconds. It has a steel case and is fitted on a black leather strap. The WW2 is a sleek and streamlined timepiece.

Breitling is a specialist in technical watches and have played an integral role in the development of the wrist chronograph. The Chronomat is an example of their chronograph offerings. Tudor Heritage Black Bay Blue vs. Longines Heritage

The Tudor Heritage Black Bay pays homage to the Tudor Submariners of the past while maintaining a modern feel. This Black Bay has an elegant combination of a black dial with a blue bezel. Glashütte Original Sport Evolution vs. Breitling Avenger Skyland

Glashütte Original’s roots trace back to 1843, when the first master watchmakers settled in Glashütte. Glashütte Original carries the torch of their vision into the 21^st century. This timepiece has a black dial and black bezel with stainless steel markers and hands. There is a date window at the six o’clock position and it comes on a black strap with red stitching. This black on black looks great going from day to night.

Breitling is synonymous with precision in pilot’s watches. The Breitling Avenger Skyland is no exception. The Skyland has a blue dial with steel numerals at the hours and luminous dots for markers. It features three small subdials and a chronograph. It has a stainless steel bracelet, case, and rider tabs. There are also some small red accents on the dial and chronograph hand. OMEGA Constellation vs. Breitling Aerospace

The OMEGA Constellation debuted in 1952 and named for the Constellation jet that flew during WW2. It is a beautiful dress watch that has had several evolutions in its sixty plus years. This Constellation is sleek and simple. It has a black dial and steel markers at the hour positions. The bezel also has the hours stamped in it roman numerals around the bezel. It features stainless steel hands and lugs that transition seamlessly into the bracelet. There is a date window at the three o’clock position and a small star decoration over the six o’clock indicator. This watch is an easy transition from the office to a night out.

The Breitling Aerospace is a serious tool watch for aviation. It has an impressive range of easy-to-use functions and combines analog and digital technology. This Aerospace has a blue dial and dark steel roman numeral markers. The twelve, three, six, and nine are larger than the rest of the marks. It has dark steel hands with luminescent middles. There are two cutout windows above and below for the digital displays. It has a dark steel case, rider tabs and bracelet and exudes cool.

Rolex Oysterquartz vs. Baume & Mercier Classima

During the quartz crisis of the 1970s and 80s, Rolex introduced their own quartz movement and watches. It took five years to design and complete the movement and they produced the Oysterquartz for twenty-five years. This Oysterquartz is a Datejust. It features a steel case and has a gold dial and bezel. The bracelet is a two-tone jubilee. The hands and markers are gold to match the dial as is the crown. The classic cyclops window is at the three o’clock position. This mixed metal timepiece is an elegant addition to any collection.

Baume & Mercier’s story begins back in the 1830’s and the company quickly expanded globally, having a well-renowned international reputation by the late 19^th century. The Classima is a sophisticated dress watch with a silvery-white dial and dark hands. It has a window on the dial giving a glimpse of the movement. A power reserve sits at the six o’clock position. The stainless steel case has a smooth and high polish and sits on a leather strap. This watch is definitely a classic beauty.

Graham Silverstone Stowe vs. OMEGA Speedmaster Broad Arrow

The Graham Silverstone collection takes the feelings of passion and adrenaline in modern racing to the next level. Inspired by the origins of racing, this Graham sits on a black leather strap with mimicked tire tread. It has a black dial with large Arabic numerals and a red and black subdial. The black bezel offsets a red tachymeter. The watch features a large chronograph with wide pushers and a red and black screw-down crown. This watch is a statement piece for any racing enthusiast.

The OMEGA Speedmaster is an iconic watch that has been to the moon and back. There are several different variations in the Speedy line including the Broad Arrow. This Broad Arrow has a black dial with stylized white numeral markers It has three minimalist black and white subdials, two with red hands. The signature broad arrow hands are steel and luminous.  Additionally, it has a red chronograph seconds hand. Bell & Ross Aviation vs. Tudor Prince Date

Bell & Ross is known for its work with the French Security Services and their square-cased aviation watches. This Bell & Ross aviation features that signature square case in stainless steel with a black dial and white markers and three subdials. It has black and white hands with luminosity for high visibility in the dark. The steel case is hefty and the watch sits on a black strap. It makes a rugged and tough addition to any collection.

Hans Wildorf began Tudor in the mid-1900s and named it in honor of the Tudor period in England. The Tudor rose engraving on the crown of the watch is an homage to the time period. This Prince Day Date has a black dial with three black subdials and white markers. It has steel hands with a red chronograph seconds hand. There is fluting on the chronograph pushers and screw-down crown and the cyclops date window sits at the three o’clock position. It comes fitted on a stainless steel bracelet and is a solid watch for any wrist.
