Tommy Hilfiger Gifts Rolex Day-Date II to Nicki Minaj

The Met Ball is held every year in New York City to celebrate the Metropolitan Museum’s fashion exhibit at the Costume institute. Each Met Ball has a different theme each year and celebrities and fashion designers dress to impress while following along with the theme. This year’s theme was “Punk: Chaos to Couture.” Many of the female celebrities showed up in dark, edgy dresses, messy hair, and dark, thick make-up. Fashion designers create special pieces for specific celebrities in the hopes that their clothes will draw some attention. One such designer was Tommy Hilfiger who designed a dress for pop star Nicki Minaj to wear to the event. To thank Minaj for wearing his clothes and sitting at his table at the event Hilfiger gifted Nicki Minaj with a watch. Not just any watch, but a Rolex Oyster Day-Date II, which retails for $32,000.

Not a bad way to say thank you!
