Stars of “Star Trek – Into the Darkness” and Their Luxury Watch Preferences

Along with the warm weather, summer also brings some great movies! Star Trek – Into the Darkness,” the twelfth installment of the Star Trek series, premiers Friday, May 17th. It is one of the most anticipated movies of the summer and is expected to do extremely well in the box offices, mainly do to the previous success of the movie’s director and producer, JJ Abrams. Set in the year 2259, “Star Trek – Into the Darkness” takes place one year after the 2009’s “Star Trek” movie. The principal cast for this sci-fi film consists of Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, Karl Urbam, John Cho, and Bruce Greenwood. Not only are these cast members great and successful actors, but many of them are also avid watch fans.

Zoe Saldana, who plays Uhura in “Star Trek – Into the Darkness,” is an official brand ambassador for Piaget. In August 2012, she helped to announce the nominations for the 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards. Piaget is a proud sponsor of these awards and invited Saldana to be a part of the event.

Chris Pine, who plays Captain Kirk, has been known to wear a Hamilton watch.

Another cast member, Alice Eve, is also a fan of Hamilton watches. Eve was a part of the cast in Men in Black 3 and wore a Hamilton Ventura.

Karl Urban, who plays Bones, is a big fan of TAG Heuer watches. While Urban was filming the movie “Dredd” in Capetown, he purchased several TAG Heuer watches, including this TAG Heuer Aquaracer.

Simon Pegg, who plays Montgomery Scott, has worn an OMEGA Speedmaster Professional in one of his previous films, “How to Lose Friends & Alienate People.”

Because “Star Trek – Into the Darkness” takes place far into the future, chances are very slim that these watches will be worn throughout the movie. However, these watches are classic pieces and will no doubt still be worn for a long time in the future!
