Crown & Caliber Frequently Asked Questions

When we get clients on the phone, they have lots of questions for us. Which is great! When you’re looking to buy a luxury watch online, you should be asking tough questions of the seller, and you should be asking many of them. And since a lot of the questions we get from our customers tend to follow the same vein, we thought we’d get ahead of ourselves and give you the straight answers upfront, along with some extra resources to give you the most comprehensive information possible.

1. Why should I trust you?

We get it. Buying or selling a watch online is risky, and you should be wary. Whether you’re selling a watch through us or buying a watch from us, we aim to be as transparent as possible about our process. We’re not here to play games, and we pride ourselves on our reputation in the industry.

As far as our reputation goes, we power Neiman Marcus’ certified pre-owned trade-in program and we’ve gotten the nod from institutions like Forbes, Bloomberg, and the New York Times. And, you can find reviews online if you want to hear it straight from those who’ve worked with us before. Nobody’s perfect, but we’re constantly working to give our clients the best possible experience.

2. How do you authenticate your watches?

We have five Swiss-trained and certified watchmakers in-house—that’s not something you can find everywhere. Our process is down to an art: first, an extensive inspection of the watch and its individual parts (both inside and outside); then, any necessary service or replacements; finally, refinishing. While every watch is different, they all go through multi-point inspection and testing. So when you buy a watch from Crown & Caliber, you know it’s been Crown & Caliber certified.

3. Do you have a warranty?

We offer a two-year warranty which covers repair or replacement of the watch or its parts. We have Swiss-trained watchmakers on staff who are certified to work on your watch, so you can trust it’s good hands when it comes in for service.

4. What about a return policy?

Again, we totally get that buying a watch online sight-unseen is a scary thing. For our part, we accept returns for any reason up to 7 days from the date of shipment.

5. How long will it take to get my watch after I buy it?

We offer 2nd-day shipping on all of our watches, but before they ship out, we quality check each watch to make sure it’s up to our standards. This means that one of our watchmakers is making sure the watch keeps proper time, is pressure-tested, and ready to go. Sometimes this means watches can take between 3 to 10 business days to get out of our facility. We’ll keep you updated on the process, but you can reach out to us with questions at any time.

As always, if you have more questions (and we hope you do!), give us a call directly at (800) 514-3750, or email us at info@crownandcaliber.com! Or, visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for even more answers.
